Remember the Alamo

William is getting better at standing himself onto things. This morning he cruised along the coffee table for my wallet. Once he had it he stood by himself without holding on to anything for a few seconds. It was awesome. We practice walking all the time, too. He'll be on his feet in two months, tops. Some of you have seen him crawl. It isn't the traditional "one-hand-in-front-of-the-other" crawl, but it has been described as the "slow-motion worm". He does it all the time, and he's been doing it for a while so we don't really have any video footage. If you want to see it that bad I'm sure we could whip something up.

Does a body good.

Lookout Tiger!

This bin would later be responsible for a swollen eye.

He's a future baller, as the following video indicates.

So we just barely reserved a moving truck for our trip to San Antonio. We were bummed to hear from a few schools saying that medical schools across the country were still full, thereby causing the waitlist movement to be extremely slow/nonexistent. There is the possibility we could hear something between now and August, but we don't want to get caught waiting without a back up plan. If we did get a spot somewhere, we'd take it in an instant, but at this point it's not looking good. I have my applications for next year all but done, and we're pretty confident we'll get in somewhere for next year.

In San Antonio, there is this program that gives you a certificate to teach in a week. Teachers are in demand, and the pay is pretty good. I've always thought it would be fun to teach, and now I'll get to see what it's like. We'll head down there, save some money, get some sun, hang out with family we don't get to see very often, then pack up in year to go somewhere else.

We do have a couple of trips planned before we take off for good. Next weekend we'll spend some time in Boulder with great grandma, and the weekend after that we'll party hard in Vegas. Once we get back we'll pack up the truck then drive for two days to Texas.

We're pretty excited.

I was thinking about you guys today! I hope your move has gone okay. We sure miss you. And I gotta say, Sacrament meeting just isn't the same without William's big grin peering back from your row.
