So it begins...

I hope we don't get in trouble for not updating our blog for a month. I guess we'll find out if the Blog Police come knocking on our door.

We're a week-and-a-half into the new term. Elizabeth has begun her student teaching in a third grade class. Her first day started off fabulously. Here's the story:

We decided that I'd drive her to school that morning. We had both seen the school before, its not very far from campus, so we figured we didn't need directions or a map, we'd just find it, no problem. We went to where we thought the school was, but only saw a huge gutted building with construction workers drinking coffee inside a chain-link fence. Panic found its way into the car. I'm usually pretty good at maintaining a calm appearance, but I can't always say the same for my wife. I can't blame her though, this was a pretty big deal, not like being late for a class because you forgot what room it was in. While I'm driving around looking for a big building with a flag flying, Elizabeth is calling up her superiors, who, of course, have just begun classes of their own and can't answer their phones. So, we call up Kadee, who looks up the address of the school online, and confirms our suspicion that the big empty building is where Timpanogos Elementary used to be. We're stuck until we think about maybe calling the school to see what was going on. We again wake up Kadee and get a phone number. (In the middle of our second call to Kadee, Elizabeth's phone had died, again, so luckily I had mine). Elizabeth finds out that the school has moved, DUH, and is meeting at another school that happens to be right next to our apartment. Awesome.

So, we finally arrived at our destination, only 15 minutes late. Elizabeth even arrived before her supervisor.

My new-term experience wasn't as crazy. Monday is by far the worst day: from 8am to 11am its basketball, genetics, and physiology. Noon to 3pm is physiology lab and O-chem. The day ends with an hour of physics. The other days of the week aren't as full, but they're no less busy. Life is good.

I wore my red today on campus. Man, that was an awesome game. Hopefully they can play that way up here in the cold next month.

Until next time...
