Winding Down

I had a killer week in school, scoring a 96% on a physics test and an 86% on my O-chem test. The O-chem test was one of the hardest tests I've ever taken, the average in the class was a 63%. I spent four hours of my Saturday on that beast. I don't mean to toot my own horn but...beep beep. Tomorrow I have a physiology test, this weekend a genetics test, and the following week another O-chem test. Then finals start. The nice thing is that I don't really have any other major assignments or papers due, so I can just focus on the test stuff. It will be nice to have the semester over so I can put all my efforts into getting ready for the MCAT. I signed up about a week ago to take it on June 13, which is rapidly approaching. A lot hinges on how well I do on it, so hopefully I can pull a good score.

The intramural soccer team that Kadee and I are on have advanced to the third round of the playoffs. Our game on Saturday was awesome, and I think the MVP should go to K-Mae. We had no subs but she managed to stop several potential goals with her defensive prowess. We play again Tuesday night.

Today I finally finished Parley P. Pratt's autobiography. I know, it took me until I was 23 to read it, but man, it was awesome. I highly recommend it.

Elizabeth has 10, count'em, 10 more days of school left. The cap and gown have been ordered and invitations are being prepped. The highlight of the week for her was going to Joe Vera's Mexican Fiestaraunt. That's right, Fiestaraunt. It was moo-ee fantastico. Long after I finished my Ixtapa (pork slop in tortillas), she was still inhaling chips and salsa. I can't blame her though, she is eating for two, after all. Plus she just loves chips and salsa. Remember this for future birthdays and holidays. The enrichment activity this week was learning how to make bread. From the dough she brought home, she tried to make some cinnamon rolls but had a rough time getting started. With a little help from my mad baking skills, they turned out to be delicious. Today she used the rest of the dough to make some killer home made pizza.

To make up for the cinnamon roll fiasco she made some home made cream puffs for a ward activity. They quickly became the favorite of all who attended. Much to my dismay, not very many people took a chance on my peanut butter no-bake cookies. They missed out, as anyone who has tried them can attest. Oh well...more for me.

We'll make our first visit to the actual doctor this week. When we saw the nurse about a week and a half ago, she was able to find the heartbeat of our little one. It was pretty cool. Elizabeth is starting to show a tiny bit (however, it could be the mexican food from last night). Nothing picture-worthy yet.

Okay, so if you're my doc one day...and you score, let's say, a 96% on a test just like your physics exam, and what if my problem falls in that 4% you got wrong range? Then what? Do we google the problem? So you know, I'm good with that.

Kidding man. Nice work on the school stuff and congrats on the new and first addition to your family. I'm stoked for you guys.

Janae', I would love to try your salsa recipe! (though it will be tough to top my totally awesome salsa recipe... :) Email it to me or something sometime.

Oh, and just to clear things up...we're NOT naming our child Ezekiel (much to Trent's dismay). Trent likes it, but I think it's ridiculous, so it's kind of a joke now...

If your problem was in that four percent range, I would just refer you to my boss...aka your genius son.

Trent- Wow, even I'm impressed with your test scores!!

Liz- When I was pregnant with Leah I craved chips and salsa until one night I ate so much it made me sick. From then on I couldn't stand them, especially the smell! Even after she was born! This little problem didn't clear up until about Summer '04! Pregnancies are weird!!
