"Click, Clack, Snore"

So, I know I have lots of things to write about and graduation pictures to post and all, but I'll just start with this, about a small problem at our house lately. The title of this post comes from a cute children's book called "Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type" by Doreen (?) Cronin... We don't have any problem with livestock... but the clicking and the clacking part.

Apparently I've had a problem with snoring for a while. But, you know me, it wouldn't be a normal kind of a snore like sawing logs (or a catfight under the house :), instead I "click", as Trent describes it. Not only do I click, but apparently I do it quite mysteriously, as nothing in my mouth seems to be moving when I do it. My guess is it happens either in my throat or has something to do with my cheeks moving when I breathe. Anyway, it wakes Trent up at night, I guess. For a while he would just try to solve the problem by shutting my mouth for me while I was sleeping, which would of course wake me up as well. I'm not sure if it's gotten worse lately, or if Trent's just getting tired of it, but three nights in the last week he's gotten up and slept the rest of the night on the couch. Sad story, huh? I'm not quite sure what to do about it. I've tried to concentrate on breathing through my nose when I sleep, but either I do it fine, fall asleep and then start breathing through my mouth, or when I try to breathe through my nose I just feel like I'm not getting enough oxygen. I've also been blowing my nose before bed, to make sure the airway is clear, but apparently that doesn't last more than a few hours and I start clicking again. Weird, huh? I've offered to sleep on the couch, since I'm the one causing the problem, but Trent's too manly to let me. But I told him I'm sleeping on the couch the whole week before he takes the MCAT so he can get some decent sleep!

Get the poor boy some earplugs!

They work great! I got some for YW Camp last year. I actually slept. All of our friends who have worked night shift have sworn by them. Maybe then no one will have to sleep on the couch. :)

Seriously, Celina? I had no idea I had a problem snoring until I married Trent!

This is funny. Timothy used to snore when we first got married and I used to close his mouth at night too, then mysteriously he quit (my guess is that I got used to it and now sleep through it.) There's hope yet for Trent!

Apparently I snore too but it gets infinitely worse when I'm pregnant!! Maybe you've always done it but now it's worse.

PS Click, Clack, Snore is clever :)
