We just got back from taking my mom to the airport after having her here for a week. It was SO nice having her here. Here's why:
- I didn't wash a single dish this week, she did them ALL (and bought a drain plug and sink protector thing for us to make the job easier).
- She helped me get Will's room in order finally. Since he came early, I hadn't quite gotten everything put away, and then it just got worse when we brought him home and had all kinds of presents and other baby stuff everywhere. Now it's pretty neat and organized, and cute!
- She also helped me finish the curtains for the window, and finished up the cute quilt we started to match the bumper pads back in April.
- She bought all kinds of things for little Will...an adorable blessing outfit, a cozy quilted coat/suit to keep him warm in the winter, a fleece BYU beanie to keep his little head warm, some nightlights for his room, and my new favorite kind of diapers--Pamper's Swaddlers...these have cut down significantly on the number of times he pees through his clothes.
- Which reminds me... She also did all of our laundry this week, including folding it all.
- She either cooked or bought food for us the whole time she was here...this was great. I like cooking, when I'm in the mood, but I always hate trying to come up with something to make, so it was nice to have a break from that. Also, she made up the cake I bought to be Trent's birthday cake and had never gotten around to making, and made the most delicous apple pie for us (and bought vanilla ice cream to go with it!) Trent said it was the best apple pie he's ever had. I agree.
- Probably the best thing she did while she was here, and the thing that will be hardest for me to get used to when she's gone, is helping me with the baby at night. I would get up and feed him when he woke up at night, and then Mom would take him for me and hold him until he was asleep and put him to bed, all while she let me go back to sleep. This was especially a sacrifice for her considering that for a few days while she was here William decided he didn't want to sleep in his crib, but be held all night long.
- She also scrubbed the tub and vacuumed the floor.
- She also was there to offer moral support in doing things I'm not used to yet being a new mom, like bathing Will, going to the doctor with me (including getting his little belly button checked out --umbilical granuloma, having the 2 week visit--the doctor said she heard a heart murmur, a chest x-ray, and visit to the cardiologist--who said Will is fine by the way).
So, we thoroughly enjoyed having her here, and will miss her! Thanks Mom, for all of your help! We love you!

Busy week. Aren't mom's great?! By the way pampers are always the best, that's why we got a Sam's club membership. FYI, here you can get 234 size 1-2 for about $40. Bradley has never leaked out of a pampers.
tell your mom she can come to my house whenever she wants ;)
I'm glad you guys had fun. I always use the pampers preemies when they are tiny...Jennings babies have no bum. All of mine but Taylor (who did not have a Jennings bum) wore the preemies for the first six weeks. We love those tiny hineys :)
