So, yesterday, Trent and I were eating dinner and William had run off and was playing in the other room. (I know...we shouldn't let him do that, but by dinnertime we're both so tired, so we were being lazy). Afterward, Trent realized that his school ID (which is also a key to get into each of his classrooms--Midwestern is big on security) was missing. So before bed we spent awhile looking for "Daddy's card". Trent kept asking him where it could be, with not much of a response from William. I'm pretty sure he forgot that he had even played with it.
So we put him to bed and when we said the prayer we prayed that we would be able to find Daddy's card. Trent found it about 3 minutes later in William's Trick or Treat bag he'd been carrying around while we were eating dinner.
So this morning, when I said the prayer before William and I had breakfast, I said we were thankful that Daddy could find his card last night. I should have taken advantage of the teaching moment and talked to William more about how our prayer was answered, but I got distracted or something, and it wasn't mentioned again.
Then tonight William was saying his prayer before bed. He was saying thank you for his blankets and stuffed animals (and his cousin Bradley's blanket..that was kind of funny), so Trent said "What else are you thankful for?" and William said, "Jesus find Daddy's card." Sweet boy. Good thing he's so smart and can learn things we don't remember to teach him outright. We sure love our little boy!

That is so sweet! It is amazing to me how much little kids understand. I am happy to see a new post! I hope you are doing well in Arizona. We miss you guys!
Those moments are the best. I am still waiting for Mason to want to say his own prayers... I think little kid prayers are always the best.
