Before (notice the long comb-over hairs on top):
After:

William has been 6 months old for one week now. As I said, I trimmed those long hairs on the top of his head off (since they were a couple inches longer than all the rest of his hair). I'd been wanting to do it, but couldn't bring myself to cut his little baby hair so soon. I figured it would be okay if I waited until he was at least 6 months old :) We didn't really do anything to celebrate the half birthday...except I did give him some of my banana as a treat! Oh, he's got 2 teeth now, by the way.

We took him to the doctor on Tuesday. William was so happy the whole time! Probably because he's been stuck inside a lot lately with the cold weather. He was just glad to get out and see some new faces. He was a little ham the whole time. The doctor said he was the cutest baby she's seen in a long time. She also said that he reminded her of a 9 month old with how social and strong he is. He showed off his sitting up skills for her her, and she told him he had good "trunk strength". We were very proud parents. :)
Here are his measurements:
Weight: 15 lbs. 13 oz.
Length: 26 inches
His weight gain decreased since last time, meaning he's in a lower percentile now than before. He was about 50th percentile last time, now he's around 25th. She didn't seem worried about it and said that's fairly normal for breastfeeding babies. She told us we could try feeding him solids 3 times a day though. She also said we could give him juice now, so William had his very first bottle today! I was a little worried because the doctor said he might not want a bottle since he's never had one, and he didn't seem to like it at first. He just wanted to chew on the bottom of the bottle. But after trying a few times throughout the day, he eventually drank the whole 2 oz. of apple juice.
Lately William has also learned to go to sleep without being swaddled up. Also, he's gotten pretty good at going down for a nap without me having to rock him while he fights getting put to sleep. Now I can just put him in his crib, give him his pacifier, blankets, stuffed animal, and turn on his glow-worm seahorse, and he'll go to sleep fairly quickly. He's such a big boy. He likes eating, and especially likes to play with the spoon afterwards sometimes. Don't wory, I'm always watching to make sure he doesn't stick it down his throat and choke on it... :) Oh yeah, and today he did a full out push up!! He was on his tummy with his hands on the floor and pushed up until nothing else but his toes were touching the ground! It was pretty funny.
We love this boy! He is so fun. He's the most ticklish when he's tired. It's like he gets loopy and everything is funny to him so he just cracks up. And that makes us crack up. We know Heavenly Father gave us a really special, sweet little boy and we are so grateful!
PS, I tried to put spaces between the other paragraphs, but it wouldn't let me for some reason...

He sounds like someone we should meet. It's fun to read how much you guys adore him. Aren't they the best!? We miss you guys. Why don't you come visit?
They grow so fast, don't they? But he still looks so tiny in his high chair!
